ROOM 1 BLOGSTARZ



Kia ora, Talofa, Bula & Greetings all

Hello everyone your Room 1 Blogstarz for week 1 are Samira and her buddy Corbin. Welcome to our first class blog. We would like to share what we have been up to in ruma tahi.

We have been learning how to calculate an Area in mathematics, and have been working on our values as well. Did you know that our school hall is getting renovated? This is one of many awesome things Mrs Tofilau has done for the school!

This is also our first week for Buddy classes to work together. this takes place at 10am, every Friday - our buddy class this term is Room 9. We also kick started our Champion Choices options this week; here are photos of a few Champion Choice groups, and the exciting things they have been involved in this week:

Important current & upcoming events:
  • Monday 7th May
    Haka powhiri for our new staff members
  • Tuesday 8th May
    Homai Rippa rugby team out Champion Choice block changed to 12pm (for today only) 'Inspire me' group performing in the last block
  • Thursday 10th May Year 6 students visit to the Maritime museum in Auckland, and sailing experience on the Ted Ashby ship. Students will be out from 9:00am - 2:30pm.
  • Friday 11th May Buddy classes will continue, and plan art works that will contribute to a mini art exhibition for Homai’s BIG Art Exhibition in Week 8. this will give parents the opportunity to come in and view the beautiful art work put together by our students. Cultural groups & Whare Happs will also be every Friday - beginning next week. So watch this space!
